Objective

- Solve the local flooding situation on streets and existing residential areas, upgrade the sewer system to separate wastewater from rainwater to minimize the environmental pollution.

- Upgrade the existing water irrigation system and construct a new system of sewers to collect wastewater of the town and water irrigation system of new urban areas and the wastewater treatment station.

Infrastructure at location

- Common water irrigation system of Tan Chau: wastewater and rainwater flow into the same irrigation system and are then discharged into canals through a network with about 10 existing discharge outlets. The collected waste water includes domestic wastewater and industrial wastewater.

- Manholes are in quite good natural conditions without landslide. However, owing to be irregularly dredged and upgraded, there is sand clogged in the manholes as well as on the openings.

- Although there are still many technical defects, the water drainage system still ensure the water discharge for the town, the duration for water stagnancy is not long and the number of points with stagnant water is not high partly because the town has many canals and the distance from the flooded point to canals is short.

- Provide equipment for treating garbage and wastewater in An Giang;

- Change awareness on environment and natural resource protection.

- Make contribution to the social development of the society as a whole.
