An Giang attends ASEM Conference in Can Tho city
ASEM conference takes place in the context of climate change which is considered the greatest challenge of human in the 21st century, life of global socio-economic is deeply affected and completely changed. 2018 is identified as a key year for climate change response, it contributes to the implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and Agenda of 2030 for Sustainable Development.

The conference is Vietnam's initiative and is also the first initiative of ASEM in the decade of cooperation on climate change response, it is linked to sustainable development and is supported by many countries such as Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Myanmar, Finland, Netherland and Italy...

The conference will be organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and People's Committee of Can Tho City from 19 to 20 june 2018 in Can Tho city with participation of the representative of 53 members from ASEM and organizations in the region.

The conference includes the main activities such as: opening ceremony, closing ceremony, formal reception, welcoming meeting, 4 plenary sessions, to visit to some places where is affected by climate change and to exhibit in the framework of the conference with the theme “ASEM conference acts together to climate change response, to achieve sustainable development.

Attending the exhibition in the framework of the ASEM conference, People's Committee of An Giang province chooses the theme "An Giang strives to respond to climate change" for the provincial booth at the conference, at the same time assign the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with Trade and Investment Promotion Center carry out, relevant departments provide images, documents to introduce about An Giang.
